"The Global Lung Cancer Coalition goes from strength to strength! The Foundation provides the secretariat for the GLCC.
During 2011, we plan considerable activity. Firstly, we are encouraging new membership of GLCC and development of new and existing organisations. Already, we have had interest from new groups in Egypt and India. We look forward to our annual members meeting, which this year, will take place in Amsterdam, prior to the World Lung Cancer Conference (WCLC). During WCLC, the GLCC will host a symposium and an exhibition stand, networking with clinician and scientist delegates.
The GLCC also has a regular newsletter, networking its members. It also has a website (currently being updated) and has recently embraced new social media by launching into twitter and facebook!
Key activities for GLCC is its development of a Factsheet on Clinical Trials; its Global Lung Cancer Journalism Award; Raising awareness of 'stigma and lung cancer', through dissemination of the GLCC/IPSOS MORI Poll.
